You can take both roads in the Merrimack Valley Region of New Hampshire where you'll find New Hampshire's largest cities, some of the oldest towns, and welcoming bed and breakfasts throughout. The Currier Museum of Art and its mid-century modern Zimmerman House by Frank Lloyd Wright are in the state's largest city, Manchester. The "Queen City" also boasts 19th Century mills which have been converted in condos, a museum, antique malls and a science center where kids of all ages enjoy the interactive exhibits about the Merrimack River and learn about stewardship of our water resources at the Amoskeag Fishways. The planetarium and space center – McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is in the state capital of Concord. Two family friendly ski areas are in our region: McIntyre and Pats Peak.
Granite Staters enjoy their hikes and nature abounds, even in this most populous region, with rail trails for cycling and walks. Big cities and small towns take pride in their open spaces. The Audubon Center at Massabesic Lake is just one place to get outside. Ask your innkeeper for their favorite.
Antique stores abound in our region. Several are clustered on Route 101 and Route 101A west of interstate 93 as well as on Routes 4/202/9 east of Concord.
